Empurple - The Name
The Name : Purple is created through the combination of Red and Blue. It is a colour used to symbolize Creativity, Royalty, Femininity, Wisdom and Spirituality. If I consider feeling Royal as being in touch with your true nature and being comfortable and grounded in your skin – then the work that I aim to offer is to nourish all these purple qualities in ourselves.
Empurple is to make or become purple.
So here, we invite you to be on the journey of claiming your purple-ness and empurple yourself.
Through our offering we hope to ignite and nourish and hold space for all things purple to blossom.
Purple does not exist in a vacuum. It contains the Red and the Blue and it is part of a larger wheel or spectrum of colours. So, empurpling may also take you on an adventure to other colours. Do hop in and find your purple. Happy empurpling
The logo
At first glance, the logo does not make sense. It takes a while to figure it out. Only when the ‘blank’ space is included, do the disparate pieces come together. This is the essence of the work we do. Hold space for you to ‘discover’ what lies in you that you are perhaps not yet seeing for yourself and as soon as you find that you will find new meaning for your own creative action. The unsaid and unseen, when included, makes it whole. And to be seen and heard for who we are encourages us to stay on our path. Be it through our one to one coaching or workshops or even the interactive performances , our endeavor is to support your journey of identifying that which already exists and claim it as yours. The blank space is also that which joins the individual people together and makes them into a meaningful community.

About Empurple
Through our offering at empurple we aim to
- Create spaces for self-reflection and dialogue
- Create spaces for immersion in artistic processes to foster creative expression, action and well-being
The structured activities, reflection and interaction are created using the medium of theatre and expressive art-based facilitative tools and practices.
Based on the context, these can be fun and light or engaging and deep.
Mumbai Playbackers is our interactive theatre ensemble which primarily works with Improv Theatre. The group holds improv workshops and performances which are curated to meet the specific need in the organizational context. Click for upcoming events.
About the Founder
Preeti is Founder - Director empurple.
Preeti is a Personal Growth Coach certified by Coach Training Institute, CTI** and has acquired training in Playback theatre from the Centre of Playback Theater, NY. Her exposure to Creative Movement Facilitation (through Creative Movement Therapy Association of India) and Human Process work (through Sumedhas Academy for Human Context) informs her work.
She is also a student of Eurythmy, a performing art form, with use in pedagogical and business contexts. Working with spontaneity and inner wisdom, through movement and art, are at the core,of her process of discovering her inner self and creating a space for others to do the same.
The Team
The team members are trained in-house in the art of Playback Theatre.
They are professionals from varied streams connected through the love of playing stories of people and learning continuously through this process.
From Yoga Teacher, to Actor, Entrepreneur to Leadership Trainer – they bring diverse perspectives and sensibilities to our performance and facilitative space.
